Ripley Avenue Sauna Refurbishment

Over time, even the best-built saunas show signs of wear. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can cause the wood to become burnt, dry, and discolored—often resulting in blackened or charred walls. The surface can also grow rough, splintered, and uncomfortable to the touch, leaving the space looking drab and neglected.

For this project, we completely stripped the sauna back to its concrete walls. We installed fresh insulation and a reflective foil barrier to maximize heat retention and energy efficiency. From there, we rebuilt the interior using real cedar, carefully cut and pinned into the existing strapping for a clean, durable finish. A brand-new door completed the transformation.
